Four days, four rides, four counties, and probably four hours or more each day through the beautiful four counties of District 37. Ride one day, all four, or any combination. We will stop at places of interest throughout each county, focusing on the issues, economy, and history of the Shore while enjoying the beautiful and scenic landscape. Sites include, but are not limited to, the Whitehaven Hotel, Quantico, Barren Creek Church, Sharptown, the Federalsburg Historical Society, Choptank, the Caroline County 4H Park, the Oxford Ferry, St. Michaels, Phillips Wharf Environmental Center, and the Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad Trail. Many days will conclude with a lunch and a swim; kayaking may also be available.

The selected stops are now being finalized, as well as opportunities to meet and greet with local business owners and constituents. I am currently reaching out to any and all who would be interested in joining me for the ride, one day or all four. Please let me know at least a week in advance so that I will know how many will be in attendance for lunch as well as whether lodging arrangements are necessary. Do not hesitate to contact me for more information concerning any aspect of the ride.
In lieu of a registration fee, I am requesting that a contribution be made to a non-profit of your choice, possibly one in District 37. Thanks so much and I hope you will join me this last week in August for what will be a most memorable day.
Created from neighboring counties in 1867, “Wicomico” is derived from the Native American words “wicko” and “mekee” which means “a place where houses are built.”
Day 1 / The WICOMICO ride starts at the Nanticoke Harbor Marina. The route takes us north and east over to the Whitehaven School for our first stop down near the Whitehaven Inn and the Lower Ferry. We'll head north again, take a loop to the west and then back to the east into Hebron. From there we'll head back to the west and north and into Mardela Springs, where we will stop at the Barren Church. From this stop, we'll cross Route 50 and head north to Sharptown for lunch and a swim. Just over 49 miles.
