Guest Artist Gala

7 p.m.: Dorchester Center for the Arts, 321 High Street, Cambridge, MD 21613, 410-228-7782;

Dorchester Center for the Arts presents the 11th Annual Guest Artist Gala, “Masquerade” on Saturday, April 28 at 7pm. An artful evening of live music, live and silent auctions, heavy hors d’oeuvres, beer and wine cash bar. Music by Front Porch Orchestra. Black tie/mask admired, not required. Key community leaders, who are not perceived as artists, are selected to be “Guest Artists.” Local individuals in the arts, “professional artists” are then paired with the Guest. Art mediums may vary; oil painting, photography, and more. Working together, and coached by the professional, the community leader creates a work of art. The artists and guest artists are given several weeks, and the pieces created are then auctioned off at the Guest Artist event. This year’s event participants are: Guest Artists:

  • Angela Mercier / Dorchester County Health Dept.
  • Anne Phillips / Dorchester County Historical Society
  • Diana Mitchell / Dorchester County Public Schools
