Professor Tarik Oduno Speaks

7:30-10:30 p.m.: Dorchester County Historical Society, 1003 Greenway Drive, Cambridge, MD

Professor Tarik Oduno will share his research on “From Banneker to Tubman to Burroughs.” His inspirational delivery will encourage everyone to understand their history. Admission is $10/person.

The month of February is filled with opportunities to enhance African American studies and family research for people of color in the region. The celebration of the unique culture, heritage and arts of this population will also be enjoyed. The Dorchester County Historical Society and The Chesapeake Kinfolk, Genealogy and Enrichment Services (CKGES) have partnered to bring a full calendar of very special events to the public. This series of historical events has been fine- tuned by CKGES leader Christy Camper and is the fruition of many years of study and questioning by her. While mostly uplifting in tone, these offerings are arranged to inspire all who wish to learn more about African American history and personal truth.

All of these Black History Month Events at DCHS offerings will be held on the campus of the Dorchester County Historical Society in the Heritage Museums and Gardens of Dorchester, located at 1003 Greenway Drive in Cambridge, Maryland. To ensure space, please reserve by email to ckgenrichment@gmail.com. For those who wish to attend all of the events of the series, the cost is reduced to $40/person. This series has been made possible by grants from the City of Cambridge and Elks Lodge 223.
