SDFM Presents: Speaker

7-8 p.m.: Robbins Heritage Center, Dorchester County Historical Society

1003 Greenway Drive, Cambridge, MD (Maryland Avenue Extended)

South Dorchester Folk Museum Presents:

Businesses in Crocheron and Bishop's Head Years Ago

Lynne Mills grew up in Bishops Head, attended Crapo Elementary School and graduated from South Dorchester High School. She spent 41 years in banking and retired as an Assistant Vice President. Lynne has great interest in family and local history. She is currently President of the Dorchester County Historical Society, and member of the South Dorchester Folk Museum and the Great Choptank Parish Chapter of Daughters of the Revolution.

Lynne will speak about some of the businesses and their owners that were once in South Dorchester. Included in her talk will be the Crocheron Brothers store, the Marcie Bloodsworth Store between Bishop's Head and Crocheron; and Fred Ruark's Store in Bishop's Head.

Be sure to attend this program and learn about some of the businesses in times past in Southern Dorchester County.

The South Dorchester Folk Museum (SDFM), in cooperation with the Dorchester County Historical Society, presents this FREE program in its lecture series about local history. For more information about the SDFM, visit our website: www.sdfmuseum.net or call 410-228-6175. The public is warmly invited to attend. Reservations are not needed.
