"Indianbone"

Speaker - Mr. Terry Crannell

Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at 7:00 pm

Robbins Heritage Center, Dorchester County Historical Society

1003 Greenway Drive, Cambridge, MD

(Maryland Avenue Extended)

Terry Crannell has extensive experience finding, identifying, and displaying Native American Artifacts in this area of the Eastern Shore. He is the Curator of the Dorchester County Historical Society’s extensive collection of Native American artifacts, most of which were found in Dorchester County by several local collectors.

The presentation Terry will be giving called "Indianbone" is about an accidentally found old Indian burial ground excavated by Bill Yates in the nineteen sixty's on Indianbone Road. The artifacts found were studied by the Smithsonian Institute. He will talk about the process of handling and repatriation of the material found, and some strange things that have been happening in that area.

The South Dorchester Folk Museum (SDFM), in cooperation with the Dorchester County Historical Society, presents this FREE program in its lecture series about local history. For more information about the SDFM, visit our website: www.sdfmuseum.net or email sdfmuseum@gmail.com. The public is warmly invited to attend. Reservations are not needed.
