The Cambridge Women’s Club presents astrophysicist Harry Heckathorn, Friday February 2nd at 1 PM.
Harry, a Friends of Blackwater board member, will discuss Blackwater astronomical telescope newly installed on the south lawn of Blackwater and the night sky tours he leads during the periods of the new moon.
Harry received his master degree and PhD in astrophysics from Northwestern University. He began his career in 1970 eventually joining the US Naval research lab and later becoming active in missile defense applications until he retired in 2006. Harry has been a force and facilitating the installation of the powerful mead LX 600 telescope and offers a detailed perspective, revealing encyclopedic knowledge of the stars, planets and nebulae in down to earth easy to comprehend language.
Please join us for refreshments at 12:30 and the lecture at 1 PM at The Cambridge Women’s Club, Sycamore College at 417 High St. in Cambridge MD. This lecture is free and ample parking available.
