Cambridge WOman's Club November Meeting

Historical Society Then and Now Zoë Philips, Executive Director of the Dorchester County Historical Society, will speak about the Society, what we have to offer, and its history/the history of the property. Our mission is "To inspire and support research, interpretation, preservation, and appreciation of the history, folklore, traditions, and heritage of Dorchester County, Maryland and the Chesapeake Bay Region." I hope to share how and why that mission came about, talk about our historic site that expanded and led us to create our current museum buildings, and discuss some of the great research materials and programs we have to offer, like lectures, genealogy or heritage craft workshops, and tea parties. One of our latest collections of items received was that of the Dorchester General Hospital. DCHS was founded in 1953, so we are in our seventy-first year.
