Charlotte Matthews, CNA, is TidalHealth Peninsula Regional’s Sunshine Awardee for November 2024.
SALISBURY – Charlotte Matthews, certified nursing assistant (CNA), on the patient care unit 5 South, has been selected as TidalHealth Peninsula Regional's November 2024 Sunshine Award recipient for her professionalism, kindness, and compassion.
Matthews was nominated by a patient, who wrote:
“Every time I have had Charlotte as my CNA she went above and beyond to ensure my comfort, even when she was mentoring a new CNA and teaching her how to do everything correctly without taking any shortcuts. There were several times when I was in pain and not in the greatest of moods, but each time Charlotte came in she would make jokes to cheer me up. Even though she just recently had surgery herself, Charlotte always made sure that I was comfortable in every way. She just puts a smile on your face.”
Matthews was honored in a ceremony before her coworkers and presented with fresh flowers, a pin and a certificate recognizing her exceptional devotion to team and patient care.
