• Dorchester County Health Department announces two Walktober Events

    Did you know that walking is our official State exercise? The Dorchester County Health Department is hosting two Walktober events. Details for these organized walks are below. 

       

    Walk Maryland Day 2024

    Wednesday, October 2nd, 11am at the Hyatt
    The Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay in Cambridge has a beautiful one-mile trail that we will begin walking at promptly 11am.  The first 40 registrants will receive a Stanley tumbler upon participation.

    National Coming Out Day Community Walk & Resource Fair
    Friday, October 11th, 2-4pm at Dorchester County Health Department
    Be proud of who you are and your support for our LGBTQIA+ community!  Celebrate this annual awareness day to support anyone "coming out of the closet" by joining our walk, starting and ending in the DCHD parking lot at 3 Cedar Street.  There will be games, snacks, and community resources and vendors.  Please share with any LGBTQ+ family, friends, adolescents, clients, and allies as this event is open to all!  The first 30 registrants will receive a Stanley tumbler upon participation.
