SALISBURY — TidalHealth is pleased to announce that Rodericka “Rod” Hairston, CRT, of TidalHealth Peninsula Regional, is its Tree of Life Award recipient for October 2024.
This award honors respiratory therapists who provide excellent care to patients, make a special connection, and are engaged with the care team to ensure the best outcomes for their patients.
Hairston, a 39-year TidalHealth team member, was nominated by the wife of a recent patient:
"I believe Rod saved my husband’s life when she realized how much trouble he was having breathing. Her quick and accurate evaluation made her call for additional support and get him the help he needed. The patient said, ‘She was my angel!’" Thanks to Hairston's quick action, the patient’s care was quickly escalated, and he was transferred to a higher level of care.
