This is a reminder that the MD250 mini grants are still open. The deadline to apply is April 1.
Here is a short recap of the 3 grants available:
The Citizens Academy Grant: Up to $1,000 to create two programs that allow residents to learn how their local government works, get to know their local elected and staff officials, and learn about opportunities for citizen engagement.
Paid Fellowship Grant: The grant is for up to $7,500 and allows for an organization to pay an intern at least $15 an hour and a mentor stipend, if applicable.
Inclusive History Grant: Up to $4,000 to fund the exploration of under-represented narratives related to Marylanders' struggle for life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness before, during, and after the American Revolution. The goal of this grant program is to support inclusive, community-centered research, events, programs, projects, or exhibitions offered by museums, heritage areas, history organizations and sites, other nonprofits, and state, county, municipal, and tribal entities. Grants may be utilized in support of research, programming, and interpretive projects that seek to deepen public understanding of our complex history.
