• SDFM Presents ''The Transpeninsular Line & Mason and Dixon

Speaker – George Hemcher, Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at 7:00 pm

The Transpeninsular line story intrigued Mr. Hemcher after hearing a talk at the Brick Church on Taylors Island in 2014 the day of the Battle of the Ice Mound Bicentennial. And then with the development of the James Island project he became interested again due to the fact that the terminus (end) of the Transpeninsular Line ended on Taylors Island at what was in the 1700's James Point.  So, after completing research at the Dorchester and Talbot County Libraries he would like to share the information he has found and welcomes audience participation.

George Hemcher is a retired tradesman that has a keen interest in history. Mostly focused on WW2 history he has traveled to Belgium, Luxembourg and France following in his father’s footsteps with the Armored Division.
He had owned property at Robinson Neck Rd on Taylors Island for many years and now lives in South East Pennsylvania.
